The story behind Artek Design began more than twenty years ago, overseas, when I acquired my first Samoyed, North and learned to breed within a club-led system. Back then, dogs were assessed against the breed standard before breeding, and we evaluated puppies early to identify those with the greatest potential and preserve their qualities for future generations.

When I later began breeding in the UK, I chose to continue this principle in my own way. When my first "A" litter appeared, I kept two of the most promising girls.  As my breeding programme developed, I entrusted some of the puppies to carefully selected friends and family who shared my values. Each dog grows up as a much-loved family pet. Once mature, it is assessed for health, temperament and breed quality. Those considered suitable may contribute to the next generation, while the others simply remain with their families as pets.

This is how Artek Design gradually grew from Murik Samoyeds. The foundation of our breeding family was Artek, my UK-born boy, and Enya, his first and forever sweetheart, whom I imported from Russia. Their descendants now form the principal family line connecting several closely linked breeders and family homes.

A new stage began with the arrival of Crosby, our carefully selected imported champion male. Combining excellent breed type with sound movement, athleticism and working ability, he was chosen as a suitable partner for the promising females developing within this family.

Artek Design is therefore not a single large kennel, but a collaborative breeding family. Its strength lies in preserving carefully selected bloodlines while allowing every dog to live within its own permanent home. The model requires trust, cooperation, and close coordination among everyone involved, with each dog's welfare remaining central to every decision.
